DRUSM Ranks

Currently, all DRUSM members exist in a single hierarchy set, which is defined by one's rank.

Generally speaking, there are 3-5 members to a squad, and a Centurioni will lead that squad, along with their optio, for a total of 5-7 members in a squad, including officers. All officers are expected to be attached to a squad, if the opportunity exists to create a squad. This includes even the primipilus, who often lead the most experienced members of DRUSM.

In general, operations are conducted and led by the Centurioni. These operations are determined by the field specialty of that Centurioni. The path of the Centurioni influences the sort of operations which take place that particular squad; i.e. the null-sec Centurioni will lead and plan operations for other members who focus primarily on null-sec space.

In other words, Centurioni lead autonomous operations based on their field of operation at the direction of the Legatus and with the advice their fellow Centurioni. They lead operations on their own, organize future operations, and assist other members in carrying out their craft.

The exception to this is the Tironis squad, which is organized entirely of novices. In such a squad, a squad leader is appointed or chosen from the squad members, who then reports to a supervising Centurion.

In terms of the hierarchy of command, the rank of the member determines their ability to acquire and use corporate resources for operations, and the application of those resources. It also determines the hierarchy of importance when it comes to the division of resources and conflicting commands, such as a Call to Arms, or a large operation which will require the assistance of multiple squads.

The DRUSM Ranks have been properly updated, and can be found here.
